HHT Awareness Campaign
2012 is the Year of HHT Awareness
READ the recent article written by Marianne Clancy, Executive Director of the HHT Foundation International, Inc., to better understand what that means.
It shouldn't take 14 years for a patient to be diagnosed with HHT! We all need to educate our friends, family members, doctors, dentists, school nurses about this disorder. Awareness is the key to diagnosis and diagnosis is necessary to save lives. Join the HHT Foundation in creating awareness all year long.
More Than A Nosebleed: HHT
The video production More Than A Nosebleed: HHT is the result of a collaborative effort between the HHT Foundation, HHT families, and physicians, with the initial concept support provided pro bono from the Bernstein Rein advertising agency.
Campaign Goal: to improve the lives of all HHT families by building general public and medical awareness of HHT; to increase identification of patients; to guide patients to helpful resources; and to increase HHT research funding. We want to make sure that:
- Your children, grandchildren, and future generations do not go through what past generations have endured;
- Tragic cases of people who have not been diagnosed or were misdiagnosed are eliminated so that no one has to suffer dire consequences of this disease; and
- Ensure that everyone with HHT receives the most up to date care available.
The HHT Foundation’s Marketing & Awareness Committee, headed by Vice-President Terry Thompson, Jr., has been hard at work increasing HHT Awareness to the public and medical community. The Foundation has invested in the production of this professional video, creating a new landing page on our website to showcase the video, and developing online toolkits to make resources available to all who want to make a difference. Please SHARE THIS IMPORTANT VIDEO with all of your family and friends, along with a hearfelt and personalized message about the importance of HHT awareness. It is especially critical that you, your family, and your friends use the simple TAKE ACTION NOW features found on the website.
Your investment in increasing HHT awareness will result in more knowledgeable physicians in your hometown; new HHT families learning about this disease so people get proper screening and treatment; and making HHT a disease that is recognized by national agencies, such as CDC and NIH. All of these results will lead to more HHT research which is necessary to find a cure!
We are proud of the commitment made by the HHT Foundation Board of Directors to fulfill the intention of increasing HHT awareness with the launch of this project. This video is one example of a powerful return on your investment in your family's future. The HHT Foundation funded the actual production that made this HHT Awareness Campaign a reality. Please consider making a donation to finish what we started.

HHT Foundation to Produce Marketing and Awareness Video
The HHT Foundation is working with the advertising group Bernstein-Rein to create a marketing and awareness video. This video will help to increase the overall awareness of HHT among the public, legislators and physicians. It is our hope that the video will help obtain legislative funding and educate doctors so that the 90% of people with HHT can be identified as well as properly screened and treated. The ultimate goal is an improvement in the lives of people with HHT and a reduction in preventable tragedies.
Bernstein-Rein is one of the largest advertising agencies in the country and is considered one of the top branding agencies in the world. Some of their current and past clients include Wal-Mart, McDonalds, Family Dollar, Pet Smart and Hostess. Bernstein-Rein is offering their services at a significantly reduced cost to the HHT Foundation; however, we need raise $50,000 to make this video a reality. This is an incredible opportunity to help deliver our message and work toward our goal of finding a cure. Please consider making a donation to the HHT Foundation directed toward the production of this HHT awareness video.
HHT has received more press and media attention in the last few weeks due to the efforts of the HHT Foundation and several individual members working to build public awareness of this disorder. To read more go to http://hht.org/hht-foundation/public-awareness-and-media/.
